Since Ron had had a birth mother, adopted mother (his Mum) and a stepmothr, Ruth always signed herself on cards and letters as No 3.

Ruth died in Arizona where she had moved to be near her daughter.  Ron was sad that he was never able to travel out there to see her but she did come home in 1998 and spent a wonderful holiday with us.
