I will always remember Ron for that beautiful, infectious smile ,that lit up all around him, and that very cheeky sense of humour. The twinkle in his eyes. He was one of those genuine gentle men that are all too few. i shall remember his enthusiasm and zest for life. Remember him with joy, for all he did for others. Replace sad thoughts of his long illness and passing , with all those very happy memories you have stored away . He left the world a better place for being in it. I was so very sorry to receive your news of Ron. I hope that your extra time together is something you can take comfort from and that the memories you made together are ones to help in the long term. We were really sad to learn that Ron passed away. He really did defy all the doctors predictions with his determination and your wonderful care. To me , Ron will always be his “mischievous” smile, full of energy and enthusiasm, never still for long - not unlike Tigger! and of course always “Wonderful” should you ask how he was. He was the “younger” brother Jack never had. I know you will miss him terribly, but the years you had Ron in your life, will outnumber the years without him. I have looked at Ron’s gallery of pictures, they are truly wonderful to view. Seeing them are like when I re-read old emails from my sister and Jack - I am momentarily taken back to then, when they were still here. The diving gear, Fireman suit and RAF uniform were pictures I’d not seen before, but I’d heard stories connected with them from Jack - many more than once! Elaine Croker

I have many acquaintenances, but Ron was a true friend - and they are rare. It has also been a happy experience to know a couple who themselves are true friends and devoted to each other. Their happiness together sent ripples like a stone thrown into a pond, stretching to those around them. The more you have, the more there is to lose and I know there are other friends nearby ready to support and comfort Teresa as she tries to recover from her great loss.

I miss Ron. I first got to know him when we moved here 23 years ago. We shared a mutual interest in computing and soon became good friends. If one of us needed something such as a tool or spare part, Ron and I would know exactly who to turn to. Knowing how it feels to lose ones spouse, my heart goes out to Teresa and we will do our best to help her through a difficult period. David and Leslye Stansfield

Ron will be remembered for his services to the community in so many ways over the years. He also proved to be a shining light in the U3A Photographic Group where he was able to share his love of photography and took a keen interest in all the Group's activities.
