Ron had always been a great swimmer and when his sons were small he taught them and some of their friends to swim.

Having seen him swimming the senior lifegaurd at the Aqua Centre, Fiona, suggested that he train as a lifeguard.  He laughed, saying what at my age?  Fiona insisted that he could do it and he qualified aged 63, something he was very proud to achieve.
